Book Review: Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Love. We've all felt it, whether deep passionate love with the One, or whether it's with that bag of Doritos you've been craving all day, we all know how it feels. And we all know how great it feels to be loved back. Now, imagine living in a world where you are not allowed to feel that way, where the government forces each and every person in the world to go through an operation when you come of age to take away the possibility of love.

Delirium is a dystopian based novel where this is the case. We follow the main character Lena as she prepares for her evaluations before her operation to be Cured, when her life will be completely planned out for her; how many children she will have, who she will marry and what she will work as.

With giant boarders around the states of America, ensuring that people cannot escape and that the disease Deliria cannot get in. Lena has had a hard past and is scared to death of catching Deliria, and is looking forward to her operation, unlike most other teenagers.

Then Alex happens.

The interesting thing about this book is the amount of layers in Lena's life. The twists Oliver puts in her life makes this book unbelievably entertaining and extremely enjoyable. A brilliant book for someone who is starving for a good read, trust me- you will eat this one up.

Another great thing is that this book is said to be coming to theaters! Though, according to iMBD it has not been announced when the movie will be released yet, though the cast has been announced! Here's a book trailer for Delirium:

I will keep you updated on this movie, because I know it's a big thing and anyone who has read the books will be fans for life. Though, I need to tell you all MAKE SURE TO READ THE BOOK BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIES. It will be amazing, and it is a seriously great read.

This is definitely a book worth buying with that nice little Christmas voucher you got!

Let me know what you all think of the book and whether or not you're going to continue with the series! I'll give it a week or two before I post a review about the second book so you have the chance to read it! Enjoy!!
