Cable Ratings for October

October has now ended (wow, how quickly has this year moved along, right?!) and it's time to look at the cable ratings for the month for both cable series, made-for-TV movies and mini-series:



Those ratings are all listed below:




CABLE SHOWS



MONDAYS:



No drama series aired on any of the cable networks during October.



TUESDAYS:



SONS OF ANARCHY - The long-running FX drama aired five new episodes of its current, sixth season during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 1 - 4.5 million

October 8 - 4.5 million

October 15 - 4.4 million

October 22 - 4.4 million

October 29 - 4.2 million



This averages out to 4.4 million viewers for October. The next new episode of SONS OF ANARCHY will air on FX on Tuesday, November 5 at 10 PM.



PRETTY LITTLE LIARS - The annual Halloween episode of the ABC Family soap opera aired on October 22, earning 3.2 million viewers. The show will return with new episodes on ABC Family on Tuesday, January 7 at 8 PM.



RAVENSWOOD - The new ABC Family spin-off from Pretty Little Liars debuted on October 22, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 22 - 2.1 million

October 29 - 1.1 million



This averages out to 1.6 million viewers for October. The next new episode of RAVENSWOOD will air on ABC Family on Tuesday, November 5 at 8 PM.



WEDNESDAYS:



THE BRIDGE - The new cross-border FX drama aired its final episode on October 1, earning 1.4 million viewers. The Bridge has been renewed for a second season that will air on FX sometime in 2014.



AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN - The FX horror show returned with a new season on October 9, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 9 - 5.5 million

October 16 - 4.5 million

October 23 - 3.8 million

October 30 - 3.7 million



This averages out to 4.4 million viewers for October. The next new episode of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN will air on FX on Wednesday, November 6 at 10 PM.



The new DirecTV series FULL CIRCLE debuted the first two-parts of its 10-part run on October 9, airing eight parts during October. Ratings, however, could not be tracked down for any of these parts. The final two parts will air on DirecTV on Wednesday, November 6 at 9 and 9:30 PM.



THURSDAY:



WHITE COLLAR - The long-running USA Network returned for a new season starting on October 17, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 17 - 2.5 million

October 24 - 2.1 million

October 31 - 2.4 million



This averages out to 2.3 million viewers for October. The next new episode of WHITE COLLAR will air on the USA Network on Thursday, November 7 at 9 PM.



COVERT AFFAIRS - The spy drama returned for the remainder of its current season on the USA Network starting on October 17, also airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 17 - 2.5 million

October 24 - 1.7 million

October 31 - 1.9 million



This averages out to 2 million viewers for October. The next new episode of COVERT AFFAIRS will air on the USA Network on Thursday, November 7 at 10 PM.



FRIDAYS:



STRIKE BACK - The Cinemax espionage series aired its final three episodes of its current season, but no ratings could be tracked down for any of these airings. STRIKE BACK: ORIGINS, the 2010 UK series that started this franchise, debuted on Cinemax on Friday, October 25 at 10 PM.



HAVEN - The Syfy series aired four more new episodes of its current season during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 4 - 1.5 million

October 11 - 1.6 million

October 18 - 1.5 million

October 25 - 1.5 million



This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for the month. A new episode of HAVEN aired on Syfy on November 1 with the next new episode set to air on Friday, November 8 at 10 PM.



CRACKED - This new Canadian series aired five new episodes of its current season during October, but ratings could not be tracked down for any of these airings. The final two episodes of Cracked aired back-to-back on November 1.A second season of Cracked is expected to air sometime on Reelz Channel next year.



SATURDAYS:



CEDAR COVE - The first original scripted drama on the Hallmark Channel aired its final two holiday-themed episodes during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 5 - No numbers could be tracked down

October 12 - 2.4 million (Season Finale)



This averages out to approximately 2.4 million viewers for the month. The Hallmark Channel has renewed CEDAR COVE for a second season that will air sometime in 2014.



HELL ON WHEELS - The AMC period piece aired its final episode of its third season on October 5, earning 2.5 million viewers. AMC has yet to announce if Hell on Wheels will return for a fourth season.



THE WHITE QUEEN - The final three parts of this Starz 10-part mini-series aired during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 5 - 910,000 viewers

October 12 - 741,000 viewers

October 19 - 1.2 million



This averages out to 950,000 viewers for the month.



SUNDAYS:



LOW WINTER SUN - The new AMC cop drama aired its two-hour finale on October 6, earning 628,000 viewers. There is no word on whether AMC will renew the series for a second season or not.



Boardwalk Empire - The HBO period drama aired four new episodes of its current season during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 6 - 2.1 million

October 13 - 1.9 million

October 20 - 2.2 million

October 27 - 1.9 million



This averages out to 2 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Boardwalk Empire will air on HBO on Sunday, November 3 at 9 PM.



WITCHES OF EAST END - The new supernatural drama debuted on Lifetime on October 6, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 6 - 1.9 million

October 12 - 1.9 million

October 20 - 1.7 million

October 27 - 1.8 million



This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of WITCHES OF EAST END will air on Lifetime on Sunday, November 3 at 10 PM.



DROP DEAD DIVA - The Lifetime drama returned with the remainder of its episodes from its resurrected fifth season starting on October 6, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 6 - 1.4 million

October 13 - 1.6 million

October 20 - 1.8 million

October 27 - 1.8 million



This averages out to 1.7 million viewers for the month. The final episode of the current season of DROP DEAD DIVA will air on Lifetime on Sunday, November 3 at 9 PM. The series was also recently renewed for a sixth season.



HOMELAND - The Showtime drama actually returned for a new season starting on September 29, airing four additional new episodes during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



September 29 - 1.9 million

October 6 - 1.8 million

October 13 - 1.8 million

October 20 - 1.8 million

October 27 - 2 million



This averages out to 1.9 million viewers for September and all of October. The next new episode of the current season of HOMELAND will air on HBO on Sunday, November 3 at 9 PM.



MASTERS OF SEX - The period piece drama debuted on HBO on September 29 airing four additional episodes during October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



September 29 - 998,000 viewers

October 6 - 1.1 million

October 13 - 1 million

October 20 - No numbers could be tracked down

October 27 - 1 million



This averages out to approximately 1 million viewers for September and all of October. The next new episode of the current season of MASTERS OF SEX will air on HBO on Sunday, November 3 at 10 PM.



THE WALKING DEAD - The AMC zombiefest returned for the start of another season on October 13, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:



October 13 - 16.1 million

October 20 - 13.9 million

October 27 - 12.9 million



This averages out to 14.3 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of the current season of THE WALKING DEAD will air on HBO on Sunday, November 3 at 9 PM.



MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES



There were a lot of made-for-TV movies that aired on the cable networks during the month. Sadly, the ratings for many of them could not be tracked down. But first, here is a list of the October movies for which ratings could be found (listed highest to lowest):



CRAZY SEXY COOL: THE TLC STORY (VH1) - 4.5 million

THE GOOD WITCH'S DESTINY (Hallmark) - 2.8 million
