Carolyn Lee Jones receives 5 out of 5 stars from Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 stars November 2, 2013By Grady Harp Format:MP3 MusicCarolyn Lee Jones has been around music all her life, as a committed artists early on, taking a hiatus for the corporate life for a while and thank goodness she has returned to where she belongs -as a singer par excellence and now known as the Dallas-based chanteuse. She can wrap us around her finger with the simplest lyric and melody line or fascinate us with her fascinating mixture of styles.

Her PR statement says it very well: 'The cinematic, urban energy established from the outset is nurtured in all that follows. The set is likewise ordered to reflect the rhythms of life as they are lived out in the city: a continuous wave of highs and lows. In fact, as Jones was putting it together, she imagined herself in a high-rise looking down at the nightscape, glass of wine in hand, easing into the beauty of its uncertainty. Such overwhelming feelings imitate life, tracking in every song the same soul through different stages of personal development. Much of that personal touch is borne out in the set list, some of which came from her mother's piano bench or from her own soul after years of integration. The album's flow therefore follows the structure of a live performance and takes listeners on the same sort of intimate journey.'
