The Training Room

I spent part of a recent afternoon with personal trainer Mike Ages, owner of The Training Room in Phoenix.



We were working on an advertising concept for a new program Mike is beginning, about taking fitness programs global. The set-up was simple, single on-axis main light and two rim lights in a low-key design to keep the images darker and a little more dramatic.




We didn't have an actual globe to work with, so we used a medicine ball that was 'on-hand,' you could say, as a stand-in. The actual globe was just dropped in to cover the medicine ball in post.



I enjoy these types of shoots. We had a groove going and some high-tempo music playing to keep the mood matching the photos.
