Back in February 2009, Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke was set to helm this project but she left it for RED RIDING HOOD and so the job now went to Brazilian filmmaker Heitor Dhalia (Adrift), using a screenplay written by Shauna Cross, but now the project belongs to director R.J. Cutler.
At one point, Dakota Fanning was attached to star but she left because she wanted to finish high school, now it's Chloe Moretz's movie.
