The always-quotable Rihanna posted a cryptic message on her Instagram account yesterday that many think is a dig at ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.Unlike his "" lyrics, which could be loosely interpreted as an ode to Rihanna (or , or any random woman), this seems pretty overt.
The post showed a quote that read, "I hate when ex's say 'I'm here if you need me.' Where the f-ck were you when we were together and I needed you."
While she's never gone on the record with any sort of criticism of Brown (or any other exes), it's hard to imagine she's not talking about him here.
He's not only her most recent ex - split in May after a very public reconciliation - but her most significant relationship by far.
They were together for some time before he pummeled her in 2009, then were rumored to be hitting it on the side even before getting back together.
In between, she was linked to other guys (notably Drake), while he dated Karrueche Tran for a year. All the while, though, they pined for each other.
The breakup, therefore, is likely still raw. It's unclear what caused it, but there's no reason to post this on Instagram unless she wants to make a point:

Your move, Chris ... though we understand if you have too much on your plate. Guy's got legal problems up the wazoo these days, it seems like. Rough.
