Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia | Loose Stones

The Nova Scotia is renowned for its magnificent specimens of zeolites since the nineteenth century, particularly in the region of the Bay of Fundy. The basalts in this region were formed during the Jurassic and lower harbor copies of chabazite, Gmelinite, stilbite, Thomsonite, analcime, heulandite and natrolite. The first three Canadian minerals of this region

are among the best in the world especially chabazites Wasson's Bluff, the stilbites of Cape'Or and gmelinites of Five Islands. Other locations as Two Islands and Amethyst Cove provided good examples of zeolites. This was also an area that I liked to visit but collect minerals on its cliffs should not be an easy task since here there are the highest fishing license michigan tides in the world, with more than 12 meters, in increments of tide to reach half a meter every 15 minutes . Therefore the currents are strong and the huge mass of water into and out of the Bay of Fundy destroys fishing license michigan constantly exposed minerals and creates new opportunities for finding new stripping the mineralized cavities.

Mineral series of Gmelinite in chabazite from Pinnacle Rock (collapsed in 2004), Five Islands, Nova Scotia. The Gmelinite grown on chabazite which, fishing license michigan in turn, has disappeared almost completely. Specimen with 8 6 cm, collection of Ricardo Pimentel and photo Dan Weinrich.
